The Fall Professional Development Conference is CPA New Brunswick’s signature event, attracting more than 500 participants annually and featuring a wide range of sessions.

The Fall Professional Development Conference is CPA New Brunswick’s signature event, attracting more than 500 participants annually and featuring a wide range of sessions.

While the majority of attendees are CPA members, the event is open to all and is also attended by candidates and other business professionals. Attendees receive a welcome package containing promotional items from CPA New Brunswick and qualifying sponsors.

This event will occur from Tuesday, October 10 to Friday, October 13, 2017 at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Beauséjour in Moncton.

CPA New Brunswick has a room block for members attending the conference, with dedicated rates starting at $159.00 per night. By staying at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Beauséjour, your sessions are only an elevator ride away! Book soon, as quantities are limited. Frequently asked questions:

Where do I go once I get to the hotel?

Please report to the registration desk on the Mezzanine level of the Convention floor upon arrival. There you will receive your name badge, conference information, and a delegate package.

The registration desk will be open from 7:15am to 4:30pm from Tuesday, October 10th to Friday, October 13th.

Are my Meals included?

Breakfast and lunch will be provided at no additional cost to participants on the day(s) of their session(s). All participants must register for the meals upon registration. Allergies and dietary restrictions must be indicated upon registration and will be shared with the venue and servers. Please alert your server so they can retrieve your reserved meal.

How many Continued Professional Development (CPD) Hours will I earn?

Members earn 7 CPD hours for full-day sessions and 3½ hours for half-day sessions.

Some of the sessions during this year’s conference also include some Ethics hours as follows:

During each session, attendees will be asked to sign an attendance sheet as proof of attendance. Following the conference, CPA New Brunswick will allocate CPD hours to member profiles accordingly.

What if I need to Cancel or modify?

Registered participants may apply for cancellation on individual sessions or on the conference passport. Cancellation requests must be submitted by e-mail to CPA New Brunswick (some conditions apply).

CPA New Brunswick will issue pro-rated refunds (a $50 administration fee will apply to course and registration changes):

  • 80% refund until September 1st
  • 50% refund until September 15th
  • No refunds will be issued after September 15th

Will Course material be provided?

Course material will not be printed and distributed this year. Participants will receive an email containing the course material the week before the conference. Participants may then choose to save them to their computers, tablets, or to print the files.

Will there be any social events I can attend?

From 4:30pm to 6:30pm Thursday, October 12th, join us for light refreshments and network with your peers. This is an excellent chance to meet other members from throughout the province and possibly uncover new business opportunities or partnerships, give or get some advice, make new friends, or even just win a door prize.

Will there be a Hospitality Suite?

Kick back and relax! The hospitality suite makes it easier for our members to get to know one another beyond the spreadsheets and calculators. Join us in the Restigouche room for an evening of mingling amongst your peers. There will be light refreshments provided for all members who attend as well as door prizes, so be sure to stick around!

The hospitality suite is open from 8:00pm to 11:00pm on Wednesday, October 11th and Thursday, October 12th.

Special dietary requirements

Please inform us at the time of registration if you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions. The information will be passed to the catering staff at the facility and you will need to identify yourself to the server in order to receive your meal.

Wait lists

The maximum number of participants in a session is dependent on the type of presentation, the instructor, and the room size. Although we try to accommodate as many requests as we can, we do not want to compromise the ability of our instructors to teach effectively or to cause the room to be too uncomfortable. If a session is full, you can request to be waitlisted.

Dress code

Unless specified otherwise, the dress code for all CPA New Brunswick events is business casual. It is encouraged to wear layers to stay comfortable in case of varying temperatures in the meeting facilities.

CPD reporting

If you attend a CPA New Brunswick CPD Conference, we will record your hours for you the week after the event. If you register for an e-learning seminar (Live Broadcast, Online Seminar, etc), you will have to record your hours yourself at www.mycpawebservices.ca.

Refund policy

Unless specifically stated on the registration page, the deadline to receive a refund for an event is three (3) business days before the event. Cancellations received after the stated deadline will not be eligible for a refund. Refunds will not be issued for no-shows. Cancellations will be accepted by e-mail only and must be received by the stated cancellation deadline. Refunds will be issued using the original method of payment.

Course material

For conference sessions, course material will be sent electronically the week before the event. It is the member’s responsibility to bring all necessary material to the event. A member may choose to save the files on their computer or tablet, or to print it.

These materials are protected by copyright, and licensed for use by CPA New Brunswick. All rights are reserved, no part of the course material may be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system, or transmitted, in any form or by any means (photocopying, electronic, mechanical, recording or otherwise). Participants may download the course materials and print materials for personal use only.
