FREDERICTON – New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) and Mount Allison University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which will open pathways for credit transfers between the two institutions.

Students who complete the two-year diploma in Business Administration: Accounting at NBCC can now be admitted to Mount Allison University with third-year standing.

This agreement is consistent with NBCC’s strategic goals of welcoming more learners, enhancing the NBCC Advantage and building our capacity to grow,” said Mary Butler, Vice-President of Academic Development at NBCC. “Partnerships like this are important as we open our doors as widely as possible to ensure all New Brunswickers have opportunities to successfully pursue post-secondary education.”

The MOU is supported by the Council on Articulations and Transfer of New Brunswick (CATNB), of which both NBCC and Mount Allison are members. CATNB was founded as a participatory council of the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour to work collaboratively with participating institutions to enhance credit transfer.

We are pleased to enter this MOU with NBCC, which will give students more options as they pursue post-secondary studies,” said Mount Allison Provost and Vice-President Dr. Jeff Ollerhead. “Partnerships like these enable universities and colleges to provide students with complementary training and experiential learning opportunities and gain skills and education that will be essential to their chosen career paths.”
