Proposed Tax Measures: Have your say

Over the past weeks, there have been many opinions circulating in the media on the Finance Canada consultation regarding tax planning using private corporations.

As CPA’s, many of you may be asked your thoughts on the proposed changes and/or you may also be directly affected by the proposed tax measures.

PROPOSED CHANGES

Here are some links about the proposed changes and the impact on private corporations:

  • Finance Canada consultation paper: provides the federal government’s overview of the changes as they are currently planned, click here
  • CPA Canada website: CPA Canada is providing some early thoughts and an opportunity to provide your feedback for consideration into the national CPA response to the changes, click here
  • CPA Canada webinar: CPA Canada offered a webinar on September 12, it was very insightful and presented the changes, potential impacts, etc. It has been archived and is free to view once registered, to access it, click here

CPA members and their clients can sent their comments/opinions to Finance Canada directly. The Government is accepting submissions on the proposals until Monday, October 2, 2017 and is receiving responses via email.
