The required 30 months of relevant practical experience form a critical component of the CPA pre-certification program. There are two routes to having CPA practical experience evaluated. Both routes are equally rigorous in their assessments of the development of required competencies. The Pre-approved program route (PPR) has positions or programs with employers that have already been reviewed and approved by the profession, thus the reporting process for future CPAs is streamlined. The Experience verification route (EVR) requires future CPAs to record details, via our practical experience reporting tool (PERT), about their employer, their role, and the specific duties they are performing. They will also be required to self-assess their level of proficiency and progression. Find a CPA Pre-Approved Program Route Office in your Area The following list includes those employers who are approved by CPA New Brunswick as CPA Pre-Approved Program Route (PPR) offices. These employers offer structured training positions with a sufficient range of progressively complex assignments, increasing responsibility, and ensure coverage of the technical and enabling competencies to meet the CPA practical experience requirements.
