This workshop will help you bring out the best in your people by delegating effectively and creating a work environment that breeds commitment, encourages self-motivation, and improves team contribution.

This course provides board members, managers and auditors in Canadian NFP organizations with the tools to become the “go to” person on improving governance. The course outlines the impact of leadership and culture on an organization’s governance. Using case studies, it also covers Canadian governance failures and red flags that warrant attention. Governance success stories are assessed as well, in order to learn practical approaches and ideas to bring about highly functioning boards and management teams.

Working with people can be challenging and even perplexing. People often tend not to act and react in predictable ways, until we understand where they’re coming from. Whether it is co-workers, staff, customers or our boss; Understanding Personalities helps us understand people and why they act and react the way we do. This session gives real techniques for working with each of the various personality types more effectively. And of course, we begin by understanding ourselves better. In this session each participant will learn their personality type and the strengths that come from that personality, and they will learn their natural communication style. This session will give you the insights and the tools to work with people better, and if you’re a manager, you will learn how to manage the different personality types better.

Mental Health at Work
In January 2013, the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC), part of Health Canada, officially released Canada's first national standard designed to help organizations and their employees improve workplace psychological health and safety. Mental illness has been calculated to cost the Canadian economy $51 billion annually. One in five people in Canada are likely to have at least one episode in their lifetime.
Understanding Generations in the Workplace
There are a number of generations represented in today’s workplace. Each have their own values and ways of defining things such as loyalty, commitment, engagement and work-ethic. These differences can become the basis for conflict, or they can create uncertainty about how to best approach people from other generations. The lack of understanding can affect the ability of these various generations to work well together. In this session we gain an insight into the 3 generations currently in the workplace, as well as a sneak peek at the generation to come. We look at the values, work styles, communication styles and priorities. We look at how each generation tends to define loyalty, commitment, engagement and work-ethic. We look at ways to better work with or to better communicate with each of the generations more effectively, and to get better results. Whether you work with the various generations, or you manage the various generations, you will get value from this session.
