About the organization York Care Centre, New Brunswick’s largest long-term care organization, is on a journey to become a centre of excellence in aging care, and, as a voting member of the Board of Directors, you will help us achieve that vision. Since 1966, York Care Centre has put New Brunswick seniors at the forefront of everything we do. We have grown to a 218-bed nursing home, 72 affordable housing units, 31 assisted living units, and 15-seat adult day program. Our research company, C.I.R.A / Centre for Innovation and Research in Aging, is partnered with academics, public and private innovators to conduct research for the betterment of seniors everywhere. About the role As a member of the Board of Directors, you will apply your expertise through the lens of good governance practices and support the board as a whole in its mandate to provide oversight across the York Care Group of Companies. The board meets nine months per year, with no meetings over the summer months. A new 5-year strategic plan was recently approved, so joining us now means you will be at the forefront of exciting and innovative change. You will also play a key role in supporting board committees that provide governance in areas of care and resident services, financials, research and ethics. Committees of the board meet on a quarterly basis or as required.
