The Day & Ross Transportation Group is currently seeking a full-time Financial Analyst in Hartland, NB. About the role The Financial Analyst is responsible for preparation and analysis of various financial reports, supporting business units and staff in the preparation of forecasts and budgets, and collaborating with the accounting team on month end and year end activities. Works closely with the Director of FP&A to identify financial issues and opportunities. Timeliness, accuracy, and commitment to deadlines are imperative. Responsibilities To be successful in this role, you will exceptionally complete the following (not an exhaustive list of responsibilities): Play a key supporting role in the management of the capital expenditure cycle (development, approval, forecasting, adherence to corporate policy) Preparation of REA/CapEx Requests (Request for Expenditure Authorization) for the business Assist in the annual budgeting process by providing financial support to the business divisions, preparation of capital spend forecast, etc. Preparation and delivery of routine management reports, daily, weekly, monthly. Active participation in month end & quarter end processes by gathering information, pushing deadlines, finalizing presentations, preparing reconciliations, QBR reporting, etc. May prepare month end and quarter end report for small business units. Provide financial support & direction to smaller business units (DRTN, SCS) Keep the Director of FP&A informed on any progress or setbacks Other projects related to financial analysis as required Qualifications To be qualified for this role, please ensure your resume clearly displays some or all of the following: Post-secondary degree or diploma in business, management, or accounting. Holds or is enrolled in the accounting designation program (CPA) 3+ years of progressive business/financial analysis and or reporting experience. Experience in the transportation industry preferred. Numbers oriented; ability to research, understand, analyze and report on financial information Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Leadership Skills Ability to meet and/or exceed deadlines with accuracy Strong MS Office skills, Excel and Power Point in particular Excellent communication skills both written & verbal Customer oriented with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and to collaborate with a team Ability to work independently and to collaborate with a team Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel Excellent communication skills both written & verbal French considered an asset The working environment can include long periods of sitting at a desk and on a phone.
